Help us urgently get essential PPE face shields to our front-line health workers
This is an appeal to help us urgently supply our brave NHS nurses, doctors and wider healthcare community with essential PPE during the COVID-19 crisis.
OUR STORY
Since the COVID-19 crisis hit, it has become clear that the NHS is painfully under-funded, with huge short-falls in PPE necessary to protect their staff and patients against the further transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The number of people dying in the UK is heart-breaking and unbelievably tragic. We have to do our bit to help – and making PPE such as Face Shields is something that will help save lives. It is also something to which we can all directly contribute.
To help address the short-fall, 3P innovation has established a voluntary organisation focused on the urgent manufacture and distribution of Face Shields to the NHS, care-workers, emergency services and other community organisation which need the equipment to stay safe and protect themselves and those they support. We have already delivered over 2000 visors in less than 10 days from starting production, but in order to help more, we need to increase our production volumes fast; We are urgently appealing for funds to help us buy the materials needed to manufacture and supply thousands of face shields.
OUR TARGET AND THE COSTS INVOLVED
We want to make over 10,000 visors per week; Your donation will help us to buy the following materials to keep us going for at least 4 weeks:-
· 2.5 tonnes of plastic pellets and filament for both injection-molding and 3D printing of components
· 2.5 tonnes of clear film to make the visors
· 1.5 km of elastic to make the head bands
· 3,000 plastic bags to help ensure the visors stay clean and safe for the end-users
· 1,500 cardboard boxes for safe shipping to hospitals, clinics, surgeries, care homes etc
On top of this, we need to buy cleaning alcohol for sanitisation and PPE for our volunteers to wear during production.
