Support Shannon's Battle Against Cancer

We are reaching out with hopeful hearts to ask for your support for Shannon Hole and her family. She was diagnosed this past December with Stage 4 stomach and liver cancer. This news was shocking and came with emotional and physical challenges, including a growing financial burden. Since she began treatment, her stomach tumor had been blocking her ability to eat solid food. She had lost 60 pounds as a result. While her most recent PET scan showed some improvement, the lesions in her liver have now multiplied and spread. This GoFundMe has been created to help ease some of the financial burdens such as hospital visits, medical treatments and medications that she and her family are now facing. It is our hope that this will allow her to focus on healing and relieve the stress she and her family are facing.

At 51 years old, Shannon has been married to her loving husband, Edward, for nearly 30 years. Together, they have 3 children who are currently earning their master's, bachelor's, and high school degrees. Shannon's loving parents, Pastor David and Arleen Wackenhuth, have also been extremely supportive and helpful during this difficult time.

For almost 30 years, she has been a devoted 4th grade teacher, currently at Riverhead Charter School. She loves her students, and makes their learning environment engaging and memorable. Unfortunately, since her diagnosis, she has been absent intermittently due to treatments and illness. These absences have also put a strain on the family financially.
