After only a week of living in Monmouth yesterday we were woken up by knocking on the door by rescuers in a boat, the whole downstairs of my house is flooded and I have lost many things like my living room furniture and kitchen appliances and some important things, I have been unable to regain access to know the full extent of damage. Me, Josh, my dog and cat were taken by boat a mile up the road, where we saw the damage to the town we were about to call home, we were then put onto an ambulance to be taken to the library to then be moved to the leisure centre where we had to sit and wait for help from the council, a kind resident has taken us in for a few days I don’t know what the future holds at the moment with living arrangements but I will know more as soon as I can regain access, it’s something that I really don’t want to do but I will need help in getting new furniture and other things. My dog has also lost all of her toys as they were downstairs. If any one has any recommendations of where to turn for help please let me know.

I really can’t thank enough to fire and rescue, coastguard, ambulance Crews, police , library staff, leisure centre staff, British Red Cross and all members of Monmouth community that has helped us and all residents of Monmouth in the last day and of course a big thank you to the family that has taken us in for a few days and provided us with warmth and comfort for us and our pets.
