Food and Clothes for Ugandan Children

If you can't donate, please SHARE this post. Sharing is helpful in itself.

- If you have a heart for missions and helping those in need, we need you!
- This village is in need of your help! 75% of the proceeds will go to the children and fund them for new clothing, shoes, and hygiene products. It costs $75 to ship the box internationally.

A little bit about this community:

- These beautiful children live in Idudi, a large but scattered village in Uganda. Their cousin, Ivan, lives nearby and saw them in October. These are some of the pictures he took. Not all of these kids are related. Some are from other households and some are orphans found in the streets.

- School is a few miles away but during this time, they can't go to school. Some can't even afford it in the first place. Without education, their future doesn't look bright. Education in Uganda is extremely important in order to get a job when you're older. Non-Profits like Compassion international help them learn English and other studies but they're not easy to get into. If you do, you're considered lucky! None of these kids are apart of something like that and need a little extra help!

- Most of the children help their families in the maize and coffee plantation every day. This is a long process that takes almost a year. This is how they get most of their food but it's not enough to survive.

- The food shortage is difficult and kids eat about once a day in the evening.

None of them have shoes!

- None of these kids have shoes. This exposes them to sharp objects and infectious diseases. Not to mention, the ground is very hot to walk on!

- One of the girls saw Ivan wearing his shoes, she was filled with such joy when thinking maybe one day she might have shoes too.

- There is no electricity so they use candles at night to give them light in the evenings.

- The water isn't clean. Most of the water they get is from a drum or well.

THANK YOU for donating! It means more than you'll ever know!

FAQ

Q: How far does a US dollar go?
A: Farther than you think! $1 is equal to 3,700 Ugandan Shillings. To put it into perspective, $1 can buy 1lb of white bread, $1 can buy 3 lbs of white rice, or $1 buys 4 gallons of milk.

Q: How do you get the supplies to the children?
A: I have some volunteers willing to distribute the clothing, food and etc after it's been purchased and sent to them from the USA to Uganda.
