Hello everyone!
I'm a student at Cal State LA completing a BA and a Credential in Special Ed. I'm also an DACA recipient student. For those that don't know what that is, it means that I've been granted the opportunity to work here in the U.S but I'm not a permanent resident. I'm currently fortunate to be working with children with special needs as a classroom aide. I love what I do and I look forward to soon becoming a teacher and give back to my community. I am three semesters away from finishing my credential and BA but I'm running short on money.
I was hoping that financial aid would help me pay for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 but I received only about 1,000 dollars for this school year. I'm very grateful that I got that money but unfortunately now I'm struggling to pay for school. I'm currently paying off the loan I took out for Fall 2016 so I cannot afford to add another loan to pay for Spring 2017.
I'm reaching out to you because at this point I can use any help I can get. I've applied for scholarships but I won't know if I got them until Fall 2017. This is my last resort to try to pay for Spring semester which starts in about a week (January 23rd). The reason I've created this so late is because it never occurred to me to use this as a resource but my wonderful Cohort mates suggested that I try this out.
Any donations I receive will go towards paying for school tuition which is $3,177.44 at Cal State LA. I cannot tell you how much any donation you make will mean to me since I'm not one to do these sort of things (ask for money). But I cannot be too proud to admit that I need help. I thank you for your help and I hope that y'all are showered with blessings.
