Speedy (Charles) Recovery

Hello everyone,

Over the last year, Charles (Speedy) has had a change of course in life. As many of you know, he is the most loving, caring, goofy, and positive person. This past winter, he was experiencing some back pain, and in typical Speedy fashion, he powered through and continued life as normal. This summer the pain became exponentially worse; he was unable to walk, work, and physically function independently. This pain began his journey to figure out what the true issue was. During the last week of August, he was diagnosed with Light-Chain Multiple Myeloma (a rare form of blood cancer). His blood was at a 90% infection rate, which caused multiple compression fractures in his back, his hemoglobin to drop dramatically, and him to be hospitalized three times. He has a treatment plan which includes chemotherapy, weekly oncology appointments, and physical therapy.

As many of you know, Speedy (Charles) is self-employed and, due to the circumstances, he is unable to work for an estimated 6-12 months. He and Cheri are humble and would never ask for help unless it was absolutely necessary. As their children, we want to do our very best to look out for their well-being. We want them to be able to focus on recovery and health. We humbly ask for support through these trying times to assist with their hospital bills, chemotherapy, rehabilitation, mortgage, and day-to-day expenses.

We know we are a part of a very strong, positive, loving and caring community. They have already received an outpouring amount of texts, calls, and visits which are greatly appreciated.
