Help Cooper Walk Again

We're reaching out for help for our sweet 8-month-old puppy, Cooper. He's a Treeing Tennessee Brindle—full of love, personality, and, until recently, energy. Over the past few weeks, something heartbreaking has happened: Cooper has become partially paralyzed from a spinal embolism. 

Cooper has undergone X-rays and numerous tests in our search for answers. To stimulate nerve function, reduce inflammation, support tissue healing, and rebuild muscle, Cooper is currently on a comprehensive treatment plan that includes physical therapy, underwater treadmill sessions, PEMF therapy, laser therapy, shockwave therapy and acupuncture.  His team of specialists is hopeful that with consistency and dedication, Cooper may regain the ability to walk within six months. However, there is a chance he may never fully recover his mobility. It’s clear how challenging and frustrating this has been for him. We want to give him every possible chance to feel like himself again. That’s why we’ve started exploring wheelchair options—not only to help Cooper stay upright and mobile, but also to bring back the joy and independence he’s been missing during this difficult journey. My wife lives with a connective tissue disorder and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Despite her own pain, she continues to carry Cooper everywhere a wheelchair would not only help Cooper but also ease the physical strain she’s enduring daily. 

Unfortunately, Cooper’s medical expenses have added up quickly—especially after his initial emergency visit—and the road ahead is expected to be even more costly. His rehabilitation costs over the next six months alone are estimated at $7,200, and that number could rise if extended treatment or surgery is required.
