My lovely Aunty Trish
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My loving aunty Trish unfortunately passed away in may this year.
My Auntie was a nurse for most of her life, then moved on to join the WI, raising money by making cards, doing fashion shows and knitting clothes.
My aunty was given one of the first ever bone marrow transplants in Yorkshire in the 80s after being diagnosed with leukaemia, and the bone marrow itself was donated to her by my mum, her little sister. Aunty Trish was given a short life expectancy after this procedure but being the fighter she was, outlived this expectancy 40+ years. The radiation from this treatment eventually caused her brain tumours, that she lived with for five years before passing earlier this year.
My aunty Trish never complained, was always so brave and brought so much light to everyone despite having her own battles with life.
I would love to raise enough money to pay for a memorial bench in my home town of Harrogate, where my aunty grew up, so my mum has a place to visit where she has the fondest memories of her sister. It’s been a hard time for my family and I’d love to be able to fulfil this for them.
I used to bake scones with my aunty regularly and I would love to have one on her bench, to share that memory with her one last time.
On Sunday 13th July, I will be completing a challenge, consisting of:
250 Wall balls
250m Walking lunges
250 Meters farmers carry
125m Sled push
125m Sled pull
2500m Ski erg
2500m Rower
100m Burpee Broad Jumps
10km x 1km runs
250 Sit ups
150 kcal assault bike
250m Plate push
I will keep going until I have completed it all! There will be updates on social media with videos and pictures throughout the day.
If my Aunty can push through what she did I can push my body for her too.
Thanks, Leah x
