Mutual Aid Needed for Mental Health Care for Lex

Dear friends and community,

On behalf of Lex, we are reaching out with a crucial mutual aid request. Lex has been struggling and deeply impacted with mental health, and this is an ask to support them with urgent and critical relief for therapy and treatment. Lex is seeking types of care and tools they haven’t already tried or exhausted.

After some research online and speaking with various clinicians, the treatment Lex has landed on is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). They have already found a great therapist who will prep them, guide them through it, and work on integration after each treatment. KAP has a very high success rate for folks with treatment-resistant depression and anxiety, and has been shown to quickly relieve suicidality. Unfortunately, this critical care and support is expensive and not covered by insurance.

Our goal is to send $6,500 collectively to Lex to cover both the cost of mental health care and provide breathing room with income, in place of a constant struggle to secure work. As a poor and working class organizer, this collective care is so important.
