Ms. Bills Needs Our Support

Donazione protetta
Teresa Bills left the country for the first time in her life July of 2019.  She bravely took a position in Yangon, Myanmar to do what she has always loved to do, teaching young children.
Well, we all can assume the changes she has had to endure as the global pandemic took hold of everything.
This unexpected adventure has unfortunately took a turn for the worse.  Now, the country of Myanmar is on the brink of civil war.  With a heavy heart, I have to inform you that Teresa Bills is concerned for her safety.  She has experienced things no one should have to witness while the situation has escalated to a very violent state.
There is constant gunfire outside of her apartment building where she is isolating herself for shelter.  Her bank account has essentially been frozen and she is unable to access any funds.  The school she works for is trying to set up an account for her out of country, but nothing is promised as of now.  Friends have been contacting Senator Daine's office, but the US embassy is unable to support her with resources at this time.

The funds raised will help her come home and allow her time to process the events she has been exposed to before she decides where she will be teaching next. If you have connections to any resource that might be of help to Teresa please contact Beth Groves [telefono modificato] or Tracey Seevey [telefono modificato].

She is currently safe, but needs a way out of the country when the opportunity reveals itself.   Her plan is to stay in her apartment away from windows and no use of lights until an opportunity to escape.  This is a very serious situation and we need to get her out.  She misses her two adult children and questions why she left in the first place.  She has faith that one day this will all make sense, but for now she just wants to find a way home.

Anything you can donate is appreciated.  If you are lucky enough to know Mrs. Bills your heart is breaking for her.  She wants you all to know she is okay, but she is terrified.

UPDATE*** 8:00 pm on March 8

Senator Daines is aware of Teresa's emergency situation and is doing what he can to get her to safety. It will take some time, but they are working to get her out! Please pray for a safe journey for all involved.

UPDATE *** 4:00 pm March 9.

Word from Daines office is to book Teresa a relief flight out of Myanmar to Singapore.  From there- she can contact the embassy and also book a separate flight to the United States.  We don't have all the information, but we do know she is still safe in her apartment and should be leaving for the airport shortly.  Prayers please!

UPDATE**** 10:00 am March 10

Teresa needed a covid test to board the relief flight per Singapore Airlines guidelines.  She now has that paperwork in hand and will leave for her ASSIGNED flight in hours.  She will be depart Yangon, Myanmar at 10:25am for Singapore landing at 3:10 pm.  From there her flight to LAX will leave at 8:45 pm and she will arrive back in the states at 7:55 pm March 12th.  Keep praying for a safe drive to the airport as traveling on the streets is not advised for Americans unless they are going to the airport to get out.  I will update when I know she has made it and is at her seat! Thank you to all!
