Motherhood was my miracle. Cancer was not part of the plan — but this is the fight I now face for my children.

Hi, my name is Krystal.

After years of IVF, hope, heartbreak, and perseverance, I was finally blessed with my beautiful son and daughter. They are my miracle, my reason, and my entire world. Everything I do — and everything I am fighting for — is for them.

Recently, our lives were turned upside down when I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a serious and incurable blood cancer. Since that moment, life has become a blur of hospital visits, treatment plans, and learning how to stay strong for my children while living with so much uncertainty.

I now require weekly travel to Brisbane for ongoing treatment, including chemotherapy, bone marrow–related care, and specialist appointments. Each trip involves a 3–4 hour drive each way and often requires overnight accommodation. Alongside cancer treatment, I am also living with severe anaemia, constant bone pain, and kidney failure. My kidneys are currently functioning at just 7%, and dialysis is likely to be the next step.

Due to my illness, I am unable to work. My partner, Jason, has become my main support and caregiver. He now needs to take significant time away from work to drive me to treatments, attend appointments, and help care for our family. While we are incredibly grateful to have each other, this has created an overwhelming financial strain, with mounting costs for travel, accommodation, medications, medical treatment, and everyday living expenses.

This fundraiser has been created to help ease that burden, so we can focus on what truly matters — my health, my treatment, and making the most of every precious moment together as a family — rather than living in constant fear of how we will manage financially.
