Go Fund Me for Morty Fink’s Funeral and other Expenses
On December 6th Morty Fink left this world. Morty was a great friend, mentor, and a good soul. He moved to Vermont to be close to the skiing he loved. It was there he found a community that came to love him. He was passionate about Scouting, the Order of the Arrow, the TMR Arrowhead, and his life-long friends.
Morty was an Eagle Scout, a Vigil Honor, and a veteran who served his country. He made a positive difference in the world, but he lived on a very small fixed income and he left this world with few assets. His funeral was only possible because of the charity and goodwill of the Vermont community where he lived. We, his friends, are raising these funds to pay his funeral and other immediate expenses.
There is a funeral director who incurred out of pocket costs for the cemetery, death certificate and burial permit, and expenses for a casket and transportation. There is the service officiant who presided over the burial service and who has not been compensated. There are also several community services that have provided care and support over the past several years as Morty’s health declined, and we want to make modest donations to them, as well.
Lastly, Morty's home was his greatest asset but the property taxes are now due and there are no funds for that.
This GoFundMe will take care of the immediate needs of Morty's estate. In the very long run his house will be sold and the funds collected and used now for the funeral and taxes will be evenly divided and donated to Jamaica Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Meals on Wheels at the Jamaica Community Church, the TMR Arrowhead Uncas fund, and a scholarship in Morty's name at the Leland and Gray Union Middle & High School.
