We are raising money to tell the story of The Fort Moore Garrison. We want to produce a full length feature film project entitled: The Mormon Battalion. It documents the courageous journey of exploration and survival and commemorates an important era in California history, namely, those military and civilian units, soldiers, and civilians who participated in the building and maintenance of Fort Moore in 1847 and thereafter. Those units include the Mormon Battalion the First US Dragoons, the 7th New York Volunteers, and the Californios (local Californians of Mexican decent).
