Help the Romano's stay together

Ok here goes nothing. I’ve never done anything like this, but I would love a few minutes of your time to talk about the most important person in my life. My mother, Tina. We are going through a major cancer diagnosis during this pandemic, which is scary enough...

A little backstory for you. My mother, Tina Romano has always been a caregiver. She is the most selfless person I know. She would give her last dollar to someone just because she knew they were in need. There was a time where my sister was battling her own demons (she has turned her life around now) and had children, but my mom would not let my nieces and nephew go into the foster care system. My selfless mother, instead got legal guardianship of the kids because she wanted to keep the family together. My mother is a proud Grandma of 3 granddaughters and one grandson (ages 10 to 4 years old).

Now, this is where I'm asking for your help. On June 4, 2020 we got very bad news that my mother was going to now be fighting for her life. She has small cell lung cancer, which has spread to her liver, bone and adrenal gland. I hate cancer with a passion, as I watched it take my best friend at the age of 22, my father within 3 months, and my Uncle John within 6 months. I despise cancer! This gets crazier. On July 2, 2020 my mother's brother (my uncle Vinny) was also hospitalized, and he is also now fighting for his life with a cancer diagnosis. We are a strong united family and we stick together like glue, but even with that we need additional help. Please pray for us! We now have to battle my Mom's health insurance company for pain medicine she so desperately needs. After an 18 day hospital stay at Albany Med, she began to receive her chemo treatments while admitted. It turns out the insurance company can’t deny patients full treatment or care while in the hospital. Once you're released you are on your own, with them covering any pain medication. This is why I'm asking for assistance. One pain patch last three days and the insurance is saying it's up to us to cover the $700 cost. That's one patch for three days!!! If you can find it in your heart to donate anything, please do. Even if it's only one dollar, it will help. Please share this far and wide, I pray it goes viral! My family needs this! I want my Mom to know that I am trying my hardest to alleviate any additional burdens for her at this time.
