Mojos Garden Center fight for survival

Donación protegida

When someone mentions Mojos Diner you often hear people say “I love their food” “they have a wonderful greenhouse” or “they are such a great family”. John, Monica and their two boys have worked tirelessly for years to build a business they can be proud of, Mojos greenhouse has been in operation since 2013 and the diner since 2015.

As everyone knows this past year and a half has been very difficult but it has been especially difficult as a small business owner, the ups and downs of government restrictions and AHS protocols have been nothing short of a hassle and headache for these businesses.

Thankfully restrictions are lifted and most people are out enjoying life as “normal” but did you know that many small businesses are still fighting tooth and nail just to survive? The lockdowns have driven many of them so far behind that they may never catch up. Businesses and people that chose to take a stand for their constitutional rights are still being bullied by AHS.

This letter is to bring awareness specifically to what the family who owns Mojos Diner and Greenhouse has been battling over the last several months. They have humbly taken on this battle on their own and have been quietly and diligently adhering to every demand they’ve received from AHS. This all stems from them taking a stand and not closing their business during one of our many lockdowns, now maybe you don’t agree with that stand and that is okay thankfully you have that right, the right to not agree just as they have the right to stand up for their livelihood.

In 2020 the Oshvalda family built a large building on their property with a vision to host private functions, community events, jamborees, and weekly Cowboy Church services. They foresee this building being a great benefit to the community however along with their greenhouse and diner this building has also been completely shut down by AHS. It has come now to the point that this family has done everything they can possibly do and afford to do on their own to get their businesses back up and running. Each time they accomplish what AHS expects then they are faced with another list of unreasonable demands.

It is time to call on the community for help, they need to see how much support they have, to know they’re not fighting this battle alone and let’s face it the greatest need right now is financial. AHS has faced them with thousands of dollars in unnecessary fixes just to be able to open their doors again, just to be able to serve you a burger in their diner like they have been for the past 6 years or to sell you flowers the way they have for the past 8.

Mojos diner is a family run business, a small business, which I’m sure most of us don’t want to see close their doors for good. This go fund me is just a portion of our fundraising efforts, please keep an eye out for advertising of a family fun day that we are planning. We are also accepting silent auction items as well.

Thank you for lifting up this family when they have felt it is hard to stand on their own.
