Mitten's Blood Transfusion

Hello everyone,
This is a new thing for me altogether; to have a pet, to start a fundraiser & to discuss any exigent personal matters in a public forum. The thing is that it is not about me; matter of fact, it supersedes my own desires for privacy. This about my dear cat, my best and only true friend Mittens & my plea for financial assistance in regards to her medical bills.
Over the course of the last fortnight/two weeks, Mittens has lost nearly 25% of her body weight; shedding exponentially, not eating or drinking and distancing herself when her normal daily intention is to wake my Mother up for food, stare at the birds outside of my window, lay next to me while I do work and head butt me throughout the day. Now I have pet sat and walked animals for years but I have never seen a feline family member in such solitude. As of the last week and half, I have spent over $500 on multiple check-ups alone. Unfortunately, I am unemployed and to my chagrin do not have an available network of folk whom I know are willing to cover expenses.
Yesterday, it was revealed to me after several hours of triage that she has a severe case of anemia. She's losing red blood cells and oxygen to where she's confused and too weak to even jump short heights. In order for her to have optimal results, and being that unfortunately there is no affordable medical in-between, Mitten needs a blood transfusion. If she does not receive the treatment within the next few days (if we even have that time based on the doctors' observations), she will 9/10 not make it. The general consensus, based off of Riverdale Veterinary Group and Blue Pearl
in Manhattan, is that the transfusion runs $6,100 before taxes.
I do not know if this will touch a chord with ten people. I do not know if this will touch a chord with a thousand people. All that I know is I could not sit outside of that office on the phone with a doctor and let her go when she's so young, been so abused, abandoned and like me finally found someone that cares about her and is her number one fan. I could not let her go without giving her a chance, even if she departs beforehand. Despite my cynicism towards people (many of whom I don't know) wanting to help a young man of color with an abused little cat, I had to take a chance for the sake of Mittens.
