Milady Quito Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
In honor of Milady Quito and to recognize her advocacy work in support of all students, her family is requesting in lieu of flowers that family and friends make a contribution that will fund two scholarships in her honor: the AAPA Foundation Milady Quito Scholarship and Pinays Rising - Milady Quito Travel Scholarship.
The AAPA scholarship will provide a $2000/ per student award to continue her vision that all students, with the right foundation and support, can continue to pursue higher education.
Milady Quito was a life-long LAUSD educator and proud Principal at Independence Elementary, dedicating her life to enriching the lives of her students and her community. Milady was also highly involved in AAPA, the Alliance of Asian Pacific Administrators.
She attended the Bring Your Boss event, and often encouraged and organized others to participate in this annual fundraising dinner in support of the AAPA Foundation Scholarship for high school seniors, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college. At the last dinner, Milady could be heard announcing the names of excited (raffle) winners. She also enjoyed the AAPA Conference, held annually in Las Vegas.
Last year, Milady started her term as AAPA's Parliamentarian and also served in the committee supporting the Foundation's Scholarship Program. In collaboration with other members, she read through applications, sat through student interviews, and proudly awarded scholarships to students embarking on their college journey.
All contributions will 100% be donated to the AAPA Foundation Milady Quito Scholarship and Pinays Rising - Milady Quito Travel Scholarship. We will provide an update once the final donation is made.
We appreciate the support.
