Mighty Melanie

For anyone that has had the pleasure of knowing the Lopez family, knows how important family is to them. They think about others first and never hesitate to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. On July 29, 2023, Melanie Lopez, just 24 years old, woke up at 2am with chest pains. After bringing her to the hospital and going through numerous tests and scans, Melanie was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia. Shocked and saddened, the family rallied and Melanie began her first chemotherapy treatment on August 4, 2023. Since then, Melanie has been in and out of the hospital. She has recently been hospitalized since December 1st. Melanie's mom, Gudelia, has not left her side since July 29, 2023. She has stopped working to care for Melanie in her desperate time of need as any mother would. Her father, Pio, continues to work to support his family.
