I'm running a 125K ultra marathon with an elevation of 5,494M in the Azores to raise money for the Znaniye Foundation - a small local charity providing educational support and helping young people look after their well-being. 

 

This is a charity close to home that helps with everything from educational support to looking after the health and well-being of young people in our community. Their current CEO started the work out of her own pocket.  

 

The foundation organise catch up classes, holiday camps and extra curricular activities for children who lack some of that lack some of the essentials for healthy development. I'd like to give back to them for all that they have done and continue to do.

 

Community is at the forefront of what they do but so is self discipline, resilience and perseverance to overcome some of life's challenges. I can't think of a better charity that aligns with my values today.
