Dear friends of Michelle and Bruce Long,
If you are reading this, you can likely say that Bruce and/or Michelle Long have personally touched your lives in some way.
On September 30, Michelle unfortunately suffered multiple bi-literal strokes as a result of postoperative complications that were related to other health issues. Michelle is currently in a rehabilitation facility, and while she is making progress with her movement and speech, she still faces a long and challenging road ahead. As such, the Long family now faces immediate needs such as alterations to the house and assistance with around the clock care once she is able to come home. The family is also researching an out-of-state facility that specializes in speech aphasia and apraxia, and are hopeful of the potential benefits that it could provide to maximize Michelle's speech recovery.
The various needs are extensive in the interim, and the challenges will only increase as she moves through phases of recovery. However, the immediate need is the ability to provide funding that will allow her ability to return home and continue treatment without delay.
As active members of the art and theatre community, mentors, former teachers (and current parents) of Charlotte Christian School, Bruce and Michelle now need the help of the communities in which they have deeply rooted themselves, and we are confident that those communities will rise to the challenge of helping provide the assistance needed for Michelle's recovery. Aside from your continued support and prayers, we hope that you will consider donating whatever you are able and willing. Please also share so that we can continue to spread the word. Thank you for your support!
