Hello! I'm Micah, 27 years old and Mum to two amazing babies (well, a 3 and nearly 2 year old). I will be running the Cheshire Autumn Half Marathon on September 13th 2026 to raise money and awareness for MiracleFeet UK. This incredible charity provides and assists in the treatment of children born with clubfoot in low and middle income countries, where access to treatment is extremely difficult.

I am doing this because one of my beautiful babies was born with bilateral clubfoot (both feet were affected). He started treatment at 5 weeks old, which consisted of 7 weeks worth of leg casts, a procedure to release his Achilles tendon, three months of 23 hour wear of his brace and now continues to wear the brace nightly until he is 5. The treatment he has received has been absolutely INCREDIBLE and changed his life forever, I am so grateful. He may still have hurdles to face, but he is unstoppable and I couldn't be more proud of him. I can't imagine watching your child go through this, knowing there is treatment out there but not being able to have access to it. MiracleFeet are changing lives, and I would love to raise as much money as possible for them to continue to support children that are without access to treatment.

Clubfoot is a birth defect that causes one or both feet to turn inward and down. It is the abnormal development of the muscles, tendons and bones of the fetus. It occurs in both feet 50% of the time.
It is one of the most common birth defects and approximately 1 in every 1000 babies are born with this condition worldwide. In countries with advanced health systems, Clubfoot is usually diagnosed through an ultrasound, and treated shortly after birth using the Ponseti Method - a non surgical method which provides full mobility in 95% of cases.

Babies born within these countries typically go on to live healthy, active lives. 85% of babies born within the low and middle income countries have limited access to treatment and face a risk of lifelong pain, stigma and exclusion. Miracle Feet has supported treatment of over 100,000 children across 37 countries. 95% of cases can be fully treated for an average of £350 per child at a Miracle Feet supported clinic.

9.75 million people alive today were born with clubfoot, and as many as 8 million never received treatment.
