Merhawit's Road to Recovery!

Dear Family and Friends,
As most of you know, Merhawit and Aron’s lives turned upside down on February 5th, when she was rushed to the emergency room from alarming blood results. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and they were faced to make immediate difficult decisions on the course of treatment. Since then they have been unconditionally grateful for all the love, support and prayers that have been poured on to them from all over the country. She has been fighting this tough battle with a strong will and attitude, just as you all know her to do. She is kicking butt with a smile on her face even during her toughest days.
Since her diagnosis, she's had to go through a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments while being hospitalized for almost 4 months. Moreover, having to deal with various complications on the road to recovery has taken a toll on her mind, body, and spirit. Merhawit is currently in remission and recovering from her stem-cell transplant, donated by her younger brother who is a 100% match to her. Through all these trials her faith, attitude, and ability to fight back has been amazing to witness.
We all know Aron and Merhawit would never muster up the courage to ask for anything but your prayers, so the family and friends have come collectively to humbly write this letter of gratitude and ask you to support them just a little further.
Since her diagnosis early this year, Merhawit has been out of work to focus on her treatment and will continue to do so for another year and a half due to the transplant recovery timeline. Aron is currently taking the role as her caregiver while also continuing his medical school program. They currently do not have any major income flowing in as they could have never planned for their present situation.
We believe any act of kindness, either big or small, could really uplift them and get them back on their feet. Donations will go towards helping with some financial burdens from her hospitalization, medications, transportation as well as daily living expenses. This will help take a load off their shoulders so Merhawit can focus on her recovery and Aron can focus on finishing Medical School.
