Norma Gonzalez Guzman, longtime partner to Greg Matchett, loving mother of Normita (18) and Leo (8), beloved daughter of Felipa Guzman Hernandez and Mario Gonzalez Panuco, adored sister of her nine siblings - Ramona, Lorena, Azucena, Yuliana, Karina, Beatriz, Mario, Daniel and Eduardo, unexpectedly passed away on September 26th 2020.
Norma will be lovingly remembered for her warm and open heart, her effervescent smile that could light up the world and most of all, her devotion to her family. Together Norma and Greg built a loving home for Normita, Leo, Zach and Gianna and Norma made it special and unique. No holiday or birthday went by without Norma making it special with lots of love for all, thoughtful gifts and wonderful meals and traditions. Norma and Greg are both excellent cooks and they loved to cook for the children, and Norma added the spices from home that made the family’s meals extra delicious. Norma sang songs, told stories of her youth and smiled her beautiful smile while making a wonderful home every day for her family.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 14, 4-8 at Latina Funeral Home.
Services will be on Thursday, October 15, 10:30am at St. Michael's Church, Aurora. Full information can be found in her obituary at the link above.
The family has been deeply moved by the many offers of support and we are so grateful to everyone who has reached out to share how Norma impacted their lives. Your memories are a great comfort to Greg, Normita and Leo.
Norma's passing has left the family reeling. Greg, Normita and Leo are suddenly facing significant financial challenges along with coping with her loss. Norma was a housekeeper and Greg is a chef so not only was Norma's passing unexpected but it was unplanned for and the family is facing the unforeseen expenses associated with her final arrangements.
After much discussion we have decided to respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to help offset the funeral costs. This request is not made lightly and is made with some embarrassment and discomfort but offsetting any of these expenses will provide the family with a great amount of comfort. Donations can be made here or directly to the Latina Funeral Home (www.latinacares.com). If there are any funds in excess of the funeral costs they will be put into a stand-alone account which will be used exclusively for Normita and Leo's living and education expenses.
We are so very grateful for everything you have done in the last two weeks to support the family. Your love and support is helping them get through this awful time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the future as they recover.
Thank you,
Lorana (Norma's sister) and Barry (Greg's brother)
