Family and friends,
As many of you know, my daughter and son-in-law have been devastated with major damage to their home in Virginia Beach, VA, caused by the recent major storms.
Meghan and Austin were home when Hurricaine Matthew and a Nor'easter flooded their home and forced them out. All night they helplessly waited for the storms to pass as water kept rising throughout their home. By the next morning, about 8 inches of water was sitting all through the inside of the house and about 2 feet outside surrounding them. When the storm passed, they had to evacuate by jumping out a window and hiking through the flooded [snake infested] water to a safe area for a good friend to pick them up.
They are grateful to be safe and uninjured, and will be staying with me as their home is repaired. There are many more who have been affected by the storm with injury and loss of life. Our deepest prayers go out to them and the families.
Many of Meghan and Austin's family and friends have been requesting to help them in whatever capacity possible to rebuild and repair the damage to their home.
I feel compelled to start this fund for Meg and Aus, even though they have expressed a reluctance to me to do this. This is so overwhelming for them.
Do not feel obligated, as Meg and Aus, family, and I have been very thankful for the help and support through this difficult time. If a donation is made, it will be used towards repairing their home to make it liveable again. The support has been very humbling. God is so good!!
