Meet Bess – A Brave Soul Who Needs Your Help

Hi, my name is Rhiannon, and I’m asking for help to give my rescue dog Bess a pain-free future.

Bess was rescued from a rural pound in NSW, where she was tragically on the kill list. I couldn’t let her story end there — I placed a save on her and had her transported to me in Victoria.

When she arrived, Bess was absolutely terrified. She wouldn’t let anyone near her. After examining her, the vets confirmed what I feared — Bess had suffered severe physical and sexual abuse. Her two front legs had been broken, and based on the damage to her mouth and jaw, it’s likely she had been kicked in the face multiple times. She also has a genetic condition that causes her feet to splay and gives her a unique, slightly crooked posture.

Despite all she’s endured, Bess is a fighter. I’ve spent over a year working closely with her, helping her learn to trust, feel safe, and experience love. And she’s blossomed into a truly special dog — loving, happy, quirky, intelligent, and incredibly loyal. Watching her transformation has been nothing short of inspiring.

But now, she’s facing another battle. Her teeth are broken, rotting, and causing her constant pain. She urgently needs surgery to have most of them removed so she can finally live without suffering.

The estimate for her dental surgery is $2,000, which includes extractions, anesthetic, and recovery medications. I’ve attached the vet’s estimate and photos of her condition below.
