The Friends of Montefiore CT Surgical team has traveled around the world to provide free reparative cardiac surgeries and for the very first year they have partnered with the Organization for International Development which for over 28yrs provided lifesaving healthcare and educational services to communities of need in the Caribbean at-large.

We are scheduled to complete a mission trip to Jamaica, West Indes from January 16-20, 2023, where we are currently in collaboration with the medical and nursing staff of the University of West Indes Hospital. With over 600 patients on the waiting list, the team will perform 17-20 lifesaving surgeries for adolescents and young adults during this visit. This type of cardiothoracic surgery on this patient population is unprecedented in Jamaica due to lack of clinical resources.
