Medical Expenses For Joe Woodruff

Joe was recently diagnosed with high risk MDS bordering on the edge of developing AML. The only way to cure MDS and prevent the development of Leukemia is intensive chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. He is not a candidate for this due to his underlying heart and lung conditions. There is another treatment available that has a great potential to put him into remission. Joe will need to travel to Boston for one week every month in order to receive this. He will be treated by Dr. Stone at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He has made one trip already and will begin his monthly trips in October. The institute has been great helping with housing and transportation within Boston. Due to his back injury, he is unable to make the trip there by car so will be flying Cape Air out of Lake Clear for each visit. Any donations will help tremendously with airfare and copays.
