Medical and Home expenses for Doug Niles
Donazione protetta
I want to start by thanking everyone for their recent support and prayers for my family. As many of you know Doug has been in an almost 4 week battle fighting for his life. He originally suffered from a hemorrhagic stroke causing a brain bleed. While his medical staff were doing their best to control the bleeding he then had a second stroke 3 days later. This stroke was ischemic which caused paralysis on his entire right side. Days later his oxygen levels dropped and it caused his brain to swell, he was given emergency life saving brain surgery. He is battling staph infection in his blood and heart as well as pneumonia. He was on a ventilator for weeks and was finally able to breathe on his own after a trach was put in. Doug has many hurdles ahead and a very long road to recovery. To say he is a fighter would be an understatement.
When he is strong enough he will be going to a rehabilitation hospital. Because of his health concerns and complications the closest rehab he can go to will be in Massachusetts. This presents it’s own set of hurdles. And when he comes home he will need an entire new setup in the home. This includes a new bathroom, a ramp and many other structural changes that will be financially challenging.
My parents created a beautiful life together, they gave their children an amazing life. They are the most caring, giving and selfless people you could ever meet. They are the ones to rush to your doorstep to help you before you even have to ask. Whether it was to deliver a home cooked meal, a ride, help with building something, write a heartfelt poem, honestly anything you need they would provide. Everyone they love immediately becomes part of their family. They are an unmatched force among the community and our family. So many of you have given testimonies of Doug and his kindness, his selflessness and love for all.
So here I am, along with my Uncle Darren asking for any help you are able to provide. We have set this up to help alleviate some of the financial burden Doug and Tammy will be enduring. If you cannot donate, please share. We love you all and cannot thank you enough for the prayers, healing thoughts and helping hands we have already received. Doug is still here for a reason and we love him beyond measure. We continue to pray for healing and strength. This journey will not be easy, but together we can get through anything.
Please feel free to share a memory or words or encouragement in your comments, we’d love to hear about them and so would he!❤️ we thank you
