I am Karen and engaged to the most charming, lovable man on earth.
If you have ever met Jimbo McMillin then you are instantly his friend.  If you have ever known him for any length of time and gotten to know him, you are like family.  He has never met a stranger and is loved by everyone.  When you have hundreds of friends that have been friends almost your whole life, it says a lot about a person.  Jimbo is funny, loving, charismatic and has a huge heart.  He has given thousands of dollars to many people over the years and helped anyone in need.  Now it's time for us to give back.

On October 18th, 2018 in the wee hours of the morning, Jimbo got a new lease on life and was blessed with a new liver.  This literally saved his life and for that we are so grateful.  Altho the insurance company covered the cost of surgery, there are still thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars that still will be required to keep his new liver, and him, healthy and whole.

At the time of the start of this fund, he is currently a week post op and still in ICU.  There have been a few bumps in the road, but things are looking up.  We expect to be here at least another week before going home.  At that point, he will have multiple visits to the doctor each week (the doctor is a 1 1/2 hours from our home in Gainesville), several very expensive medications that he will need to take the rest of his life, labs, more testing, etc that follows a major surgery like this.  I am sure there will be many more expenses that come up that we are not even aware of yet.

And that's why I ask for help.  If you know us...we don't like to ask for help and he would probably be mad at me for doing this.  He is self employed and the last year or so has been very difficult to keep business as usual.

We do have  a Transplant fund that our team made available to us for additional expenses and they will actually match, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000.  That is why I made the goal $10,000.  I know it is a lot of money and will not cover even a portion of what will be coming, but every little bit helps.  Even if all of our Facebook friends gave only $10 each we could put a huge dent in that goal.  Any money raised beyond the goal will go directly into the transplant fun and be used only for medical expenses.

Thank you in advance for your support.  And thank you for all the support, friendship, love and prayers this past year and throughout this journey.  We love you all and look forward to many more years with Jimbo 2.0
