Who I Am and Why I’m Involved

My name is Omar Ijhaish, and I am based in Canada. I work in education and community programs, and I am committed to supporting initiatives that create real, lasting impact.

I am fundraising on behalf of Mayambala Home of Hope Uganda (formerly Mayambala Orphanage Centre), which is currently undergoing official NGO registration.

I serve as a mentor and supporter to the founder, Mr. Mayambala Jamada, helping structure sustainable systems, fundraising efforts, and online presence to ensure this work can grow and continue long-term.

About Mayambala Home of Hope Uganda

Mayambala Home of Hope Uganda is a grassroots, community-driven initiative supporting vulnerable children.
- Currently caring for 34 children
- Operating directly on the ground in Uganda
- Focused on protection, stability, and long-term development

We are now at a critical stage. Following a recent visit from the Ministry of Gender, we were advised to take immediate steps to improve safety, structure, and compliance in order to continue operating.

Urgent Needs (Orphanage)

To remain operational and protect the children, we urgently need to fund:

- Security fencing around the property
- Security cameras for monitoring
- Basic security personnel
️- Renovation and roofing repairs
- NGO registration and legal costs

These are not optional improvements — they are required for us to continue operating safely and legally.

 Alpha & Omega School Initiative (Uganda)

In addition to the orphanage, we are also supporting a newly established school connected to the community:

Alpha and Omega School (Uganda)

This school was created because children in the area had no nearby access to education.

Current situation:
- 110 students
- 5 classes (primary level, government curriculum)
‍- 5 dedicated teachers
️- Operating in rented, basic space

The Reality They Are Facing

The school is operating under extremely difficult conditions:
- No access to clean water
- No textbooks or reading materials
- Children lack consistent food support
- Very limited classroom infrastructure

Despite this, children show motivation, resilience, and a strong desire to learn.

What We Witnessed

Because the founder does not have a smartphone or stable internet access, documenting the situation requires travel of over 2 hours to capture real footage. From what we have seen:  

- Overcrowded classrooms with minimal resources
- Teachers committed but lacking basic tools
- Children openly expressing their needs

This is a real, unfiltered situation — and the need is urgent.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

This campaign supports two critical missions:
1. Protecting vulnerable children (Orphanage)
- Keeping the home open and compliant - Ensuring safety and stability
2. Supporting access to education (School)
- Helping 110 children continue learning - Providing basic educational resources

Without support:
- The orphanage risks operational shutdown
- The school risks failing in its early stage
- Children lose access to safety and education
