On New Year’s Day, our beloved youngest brother Matt was in a near-fatal motorcycle accident. Miraculously, he is still with us and has been surrounded by his closest family while in intensive care for over three weeks, and now beginning his journey into physical rehabilitation. Matt has been faced with a serious diffuse axonal brain injury, facial fractures, a broken foot, and trauma to his lungs. While he has made incredible strides (his medical team refer to him as a miracle), he has a very long road to recovery and rehabilitation ahead of him. As such, Matt is unable to resume his work for the foreseeable future.

If you know Matt, you know just how bright of a light he is in this world and to those who love him. He is a beloved brother, son, uncle, friend, creative spirit, and a dedicated & talented tile mason and small business owner. Throughout this tragedy we’ve been touched by the number of Matt’s friends and acquaintances who have reached out to us with stories of Matt’s positive impact on their lives. We’ve also been asked by so many loving people how they can possibly help. While we don’t yet know what Matt’s recovery and needs will look like, we do know that he faces great challenges ahead in his rehabilitation and adjustment to his new daily life. Any contribution of any amount is so deeply appreciated, reminding us of the spirit of Matt’s kind and generous heart.
