Matthew Turnbull Medical expenses
Hi, my name is Elaine and I am fundraising for Matthew Turnbull. Matt has been faced with a life altering diagnosis that has put us all in a state of shock.
Matthew was first Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2004. Through many years of Chemotherapy he went into remission in 2008.
Unfortunately, in June 2021, Matt's Leukemia returned, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with B & T cells. Matthew is currently in the University of Pennsylvania receiving intensive chemotherapy for at least the next 30 days maybe longer. But it doesn't end there, Matt will need a Bone Marrow Transplant as well. With all of this, these medical expenses are adding up quickly, a burden I don't want him to worry about.
This unexpected diagnosis, as you can imagine left Matt and his wife Michele in financial difficulty with Matthew not being able to work and Michele taking a leave of absence from her job to be with Matt every step of the way. With no income, this family needs our help. Matt is very proud and would not want to burden anyone with this, but if the tables were turned Matt would be right there doing whatever he could to help. He would drop anything to come to the aide of whoever needed help. This is the type of guy that Matt is, he's a loving father to his children, a loving husband to his wife Michele and and a loving son, brother and friend. I have had the pleasure of knowing Matt for many years, through church and his love for Mission trips. Matt gave the most inspirational testimonies on these trips, not only was he a leader, he was a mentor to all the students who surrounded themselves with Matt. Matt's love of God is stronger than anyone I know, if you follow him on facebook, you will see the pictures that he posts of the beautiful sunsets and the bright mornings, always followed by a saying for example, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it" All of this from his hospital bed.
I wanted to take a moment and reach out to you and ask that you help me raise money to help put towards his unexpected medical costs. I am sure these costs will add up quickly and continue to add up after Matt comes home from the hospital with treatments, medications, insurance premiums (that are being paid out of pocket since neither have insurance) I know his out of pocket expenses are exorbitant.
As Matt's friend, I thought we could all donate something to help him out. I know that any amount will be more than appreciated and grateful by not only Matt, but Michele and the children as well as the entire Turnbull family.
This is a horrible and scary time for them all and I think we can all take a moment to be there and show our support, I would also ask that you keep them all in your prayers during this difficult time.
