Mary Custis Journey to Rest Beside Her Husband

Hello, my name is Sandra.

I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help in honoring my mother,Mary A Custis,with the dignified farewell she deserves.

After suffering a stroke,my mother returned to Philadelphia, where she lived with us for many years. She was strong and full of grace, even in her 90s. But at 93,cancer returned aggressively, and on July 27th, she peacefully passed away. She fought bravely, until the very end, and now she is at rest.

One of her final wishes was to be laid to rest beside my father in Virginia. We are doing everything we can to honor that wish,but the cost of transporting her and arranging the funeral has become more than we can manage alone.

We have some funds,but not enough to cover everything. We are hoping to hold the service the first weekend of August, and any support-- no matter how small--would mean the world to us.
