Martins Vincent Otse Initiative

My name is Janet, and I am raising funds for an educational project based in Nigeria, founded by a YouTube inflencer working under the username of VeryDarkMan (whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse as shown above) to help ordinary Nigerians to educate themselves and improve their lives via improvements to state sponsored primary schools. My intention is to raise money in the UK and transfer it to Nigeria via existing channels (we have previously supported an orphanage in Nigeria) and allow the funds to be distributed with all the other money currently being raised in Nigeria for the same project. I benefited from good school provision in Lagos where I spent my early years, thanks to my extended family, and having eventually come to the UK, I now have a university degree and a career as a registered nurse. I am alarmed by the current state of many areas of life in Nigeria, and am only too well aware of the difficulties the education system is having in providing even the most basic levels of tuition for the 95% of the population who cannot afford private education, and the almost non-existence of pastoral care and non educational support. Education is vital and is the key to changing young people's lives, as no knowledge is ever wasted, and ignorance blights lives. So I am looking to all my friends and acquaintances in the UK and elsewhere to help me to raise as much as possible, partly to take advantage of the very favourable exchange rate with the Nigerian Naira at the moment (2000 to £1 at present).
