Martha Castro-Ortiz April 21 1960 - June 1 2025
Donazione protetta
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved mother, Martha Castro-Ortiz.
Martha passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 65. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many. Originally from La Habra, California, she was raised there and lived most of her life in the community she loved. She worked alongside my dad as a gardener, a job she truly enjoyed, not just for the work itself but because her customers often became lifelong friends. She retired in 2012 and moved to Mexico in 2016, only recently returning to be with her grandchildren and me.
Tragically, the day after her return, my mom suffered two cardiac arrests. She was admitted to Casa Bonita Convalescent Hospital, where she stayed for eight months. During her time there, she became septic and was later transferred to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital. Despite all efforts, she passed due to septic shock.
Martha is survived by her two children, my brother Brandon and me, Amy, her four grandchildren, and her three brothers. She now rests peacefully, reunited with her beloved parents, Alex and Lucia Castro.
My mother will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, her joyful spirit, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
As we mourn her loss, we are also faced with the difficult task of planning her funeral. We want to honor her with a dignified and heartfelt farewell, but the financial burden is overwhelming for our family at this time.
We are reaching out for support, any donation, no matter the amount, will help us cover her funeral and burial expenses. Your generosity, prayers, and kind words mean so much to us during this incredibly painful time. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and for helping us give our mom the loving send-off she deserves.
Funeral arrangements are currently pending.
