Loving-Pampering & Caring for Mom-terminal cancer

Some of you know Julia (Julie) Davis Warga as Grams, Gigi, friend or dance teacher. I know her as mom.

She was diagnosed with a very aggressive bile duct cancer in January. She was given a 16% chance of survival without surgery. Initially, we were hopeful that the tumor was contained near the liver and that the surgeon would be able to remove it. They discovered that the tumor was wrapped around a blood vessel during the surgery and that cancer had traveled to the lymphatic system. Obviously not great news. I keep thinking, “What if God wants to show His power through this?” I believe He can work in many ways. Just today one of the doctors prayed over her as we held her hand.

Her wishes are to come to my home in Greenville, South Carolina, and it looks like God is providing a Christian Hospice service through Medicare. She has been back in the hospital since May 9th, and she should be released in the next couple of days after getting stable from an infection. Then she will travel to South Carolina by medical transport.

Some have asked how they can help. This is just a simple plea if you are able. The biggest expense that we have is medical transport. We are also hoping to begin homeopathic treatments as radiation is really not an option for her right now. Our goal as a family is to love her, pamper her and care for her making her the most comfortable that we can if these will be her last days, but we are also trying to be lovingly proactive as we gain wisdom on how to walk through this difficult time with her.
