For the past 10 years, John Bartholomew dedicated his life to serving and protecting the city of Chicago as a member of the Chicago Police Department.

On April 25, 2026, his life was tragically taken in the line of duty, leaving behind his family, friends, and a community that he cared deeply about.

John was so much more than a police officer. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, a son, a brother, a friend, and someone who made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him

He leaves behind his wife, his 3-year-old daughter, and two stepsons whom he loved dearly. While nothing can ever replace John or the loss his family is experiencing, we hope to come together to support them during this incredibly difficult time.

We are John’s family, and many of you have reached out asking how you can help. This fundraiser has been created to support his wife and children and to help ease the financial burden they now face. Funds raised will go toward their daily needs, future expenses, and his children’s education.
