Lots of Socks 2022

My name is Pam, and I am 10 years old. Last year, I started a fundraiser to provide socks and underwear to a local homeless shelter.

 

Socks and underwear are the most needed but least donated items for homeless shelters. My family, friends, girl scout troop, and strangers all pitched in, and we delivered 1000 pairs of socks and 1,500 pairs of underwear.

 

The people at the homeless shelter were shocked to see so many huge boxes of socks and underwear. My girl scout troop helped me deliver the clothes, and the residents were so grateful that people like us were helping them in this very practical way.

 

But more than that, they were touched to see so many people, especially children, coming to help them. They often feel forgotten, and this gesture meant the world to them.

 

Last year, we donated to the local men’s shelter. This year, we want to do the same for the women’s shelter.

 

I am raising the goal this time, because the women’s shelter has more children staying there, and I want to help them too. We are trying to provide as many socks and underwear as possible for women and children in need in our community.

 

Thank you to everyone who helped us be a small miracle last year. We can’t wait to bring another truckload of supplies to people in need this year.
