Hi everyone,

It is with the heaviest of hearts and unimaginable grief that I write this on behalf of our entire Chernous and Silchenko family. Our beloved Alex “Losha” passed away unexpectedly in the evening hours of Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Losha was so much to so many—a cherished son to Vera and Vlad, a devoted brother to Olga and Dasha, a loyal cousin, a trusted friend, a dedicated colleague and respiratory therapist, and a loving pup dad to his sweet girl Doberman, Roxie. His presence lit up every room he entered, and his spirit left a lasting mark on every heart he touched.

Losha lived life to the fullest—boldly, freely, and with a passion that inspired those around him. He was a true free spirit, always chasing beauty, connection, and meaning. His life was full of laughter, unforgettable memories, and deep love. Fittingly, he passed in a place where his heart felt most at peace—near the ocean, in the waters of the Florida beaches.

But above all, Losha loved Jesus and held his faith close to his heart. His belief in God was unwavering, and it shaped the way he lived—with compassion, courage, and a spirit of grace. His relationship with God was a central part of who he was, and in that, we find our greatest comfort. Though we grieve deeply, we also hold onto the blessed hope that this is not the end—that we will see him again in Heaven.

As we try to make sense of this heartbreaking loss, we humbly ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time. In the days, weeks, and months ahead, Losha’s family will be facing the painful task of moving his belongings back to Charlotte, NC, and preparing a celebration of life that truly reflects the vibrant soul he was.

Your kindness, love, prayers, and support—whether emotional, logistical, or simply by keeping his memory alive—mean more than words can express.
