Looking out for Lance

Former Arcola student and current Mattoon Green Wave soccer player, Lance Thorne, collapsed last Saturday, August 30th while playing a high school soccer game. Lance was air lifted to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL where he was diagnosed with a heart defect. It was determined that Lance needed surgery and he was again air lifted to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Lance is currently undergoing surgery to repair his heart. Lance will spend a week or so in the hospital and several more weeks at home recovering. Friends of the Thorne family have set up this page to help offset costs associated with his recovery and Jim’s lost time at work. It is our hope to raise $3,000 to help lessen the financial stress. Three years ago, Jim lost his wife, Lupe unexpectedly. The Thorne’s have had a huge impact on the Arcola and Mattoon communities. Please consider donating. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated.
