London Radiant DTS for Heidi Griffin

I've been accepted to the Creative Writing Discipleship Trainings School atYouth With A Mission (YWAM) Radiant in London this July, and the costs of the school are far beyond what I can earn or save. My parents are currently in full-time missions with YWAM are giving all that they can.
I’ve spent most of my life living in a missionary family. I’ve been to Thailand and lived in South Africa. There was a time I didn’t want anything to do with missions, but in the last few years, God has radically changed my heart so that now it’s all I want to do. I believe He is calling me to minister and serve in the UK and this school would help prepare me for that future.
In high school, I was bullied for being my weird fun-loving self. This caused the devil to plant many lies in me about how nobody likes me and I’m not good enough to do anything of importance. I retreated into myself and became a very quiet person who didn’t have many friends. I also went through some self-esteem and body image issues that I still struggle with, but God is helping me work through those as well. One good thing that came out of high school was that I discovered my love of writing stories. I realize this is a gift God has given me, and I hope to use this talent to reach people for the kingdom.
I can't even describe how excited I am to be in a loving, accepting community and to connect with people who love writing as much as I do and hungry for more of God. This school will teach me how to grow in my relationship with God through intensive lectures as well as two months of outreach where we will put what we have learned into practice and minister to people in other European countries.
One part of this specific DTS that is different from most is that it is a Creative Writing DTS. We will have workshop days, where we share our work with each other and give feedback as well as learn how best to reach people through our writing. This is the part I am most excited about, because I’ve always loved reading and writing, and I’ve always dreamed of bringing people to Christ through my writing. This school will help me learn how to do that.
My dad has already used the last of his frequent flyer miles and paid to get my tickets there and back. My parents have committed to using as much of their missionary support as needed and even their savings to make sure I can go, but they have also seen a large reduction in their support recently and have limits to what they can afford. Now, I just need the money to help pay for the school fees, VISA and other costs to get there. In the future, once I know where we are going on outreach, I would like to ask and see if I could receive more financial help to get me there.
I plan to provide updates through the lecture phase and outreach so all of you get to see and hear how the DTS changes my life. I really want you all to be a part of this great adventure God is taking me on, and I want to be able to share it with you. I will be sharing weekly updates with photos and a story of the amazing things God is doing in my life and through me. So, please subscribe to that if you would like to keep up with how I’m doing.

Most parents know what their kids need and what will help them in life. We are putting in everything we can to help Heidi go to this school knowing that it is really needed, will be pivotal and help launch her in life. Thanks for your support and being one of those who demonstrate to her how many people see value in her and love her. This will be her first powerful teaching before she even goes.
Even if you can only afford a cup of coffee toward her costs, it will bless her just to see how many believe in her. Thanks for helping us!!
