Lissa’s Legacy

Donation protected
On August 20th, 2022 Lissa underwent surgery to remove a softball size tumor from her brain. The tumor was identified as glioblastoma, a highly aggressive brain cancer, Lissa immediately started intense treatment following her surgery recovery. She’s finished radiation (twice!), had many rounds of chemo, participated in clinical trials, and has even been infused with drugs that have yet to be named. Many would find this exhausting (rightly so) and maybe even feel angry at the unfairness of it all. That is not how Lissa responded.

Lissa took this unfortunate circumstance and turned it into an opportunity to help others. Something she’s done her entire life. She's given her time and energy to multiple clinical trials to support research into glioblastoma, something the medical field just doesn’t know enough about to be able to effectively treat. She’s raised over $17,000 for the American Brain Tumor Association and brought over 100 walkers to their main events in St. Paul. She’s volunteered at events and raised money for Best Christmas Ever, an organization that supports families during the holidays who have fallen on though times. She’s volunteered at every possible school event, planned kids sports events, hosted baby showers, potlucks, and parties. It is truly astonishing to think about what she’s done over the last VERY difficult 16 months.

Lissa has done so much for her friends, family, co-workers, and community that it is not surprising that so many of you want to give to her and her family in this time of need. Those thoughts and prayers (T’s & P’s) have been so appreciated. They’ve helped her move mountains, but instead of material gifts Lissa would really like to channel your generosity towards the causes she loves to support.

We’re helping her raise these funds to continue her contributions to brain cancer research and treatment, helping families in need, and supporting her community. If you are inclined to give, please direct your love here. Lissa, Brett, and the kids will know where and how to direct funds and we’ll keep everyone posted here.

Thanks in advance for helping Lissa keep her giving going!
