On Christmas Eve, our family went through something completely unexpected.

My sister Mekehl, who is 25 weeks pregnant, was in a car accident. We are incredibly grateful that she, her baby girl, and their fur baby Theo all made it out alive. That alone feels like a miracle. Unfortunately, she was left with expensive ER bills and now needs to figure out how to replace her car.

While rushing to get to Mekehl at the scene, my brother-in-law Cornel slipped and fell fracturing his foot. Cornel is a professional dancer and the main source of income for their family, especially right now while Mekehl is out of work due to her pregnancy. With this injury, Cornel will be unable to work for a while and is also facing his own ER bills and upcoming expenses.

They are doing their best to stay positive, but the financial stress has been heavy, especially during a time that should be filled with excitement as they prepare to welcome Baby Turcan in April.

I’m asking for help as a big sister during this overwhelming time. Anything truly helps, whether it is a donation, a share, or kind words. I believe that when people come together, big and even magical things can happen.
