Life-Saving Surgery for Baby Koda

Dear Family, Friends and all that may see this fundraising campaign. My name is Cary Lambert and I’m the proud Great Uncle of Koda that was born on the 3rd of April. I’m kicking off this fundraiser and he needs your help.

 

My nephew Brandon and the mother Ashley knew that baby Koda would be born with a congenital heart condition. Diagnosed as DORV, double outlet right ventricle. Surgery was scheduled to be soon after birth but when Koda was born the pediatric doctors postponed it saying that he was too weak and his heart needed to grow a little before they could perform this life-saving surgery.

 

Koda has medical insurance but the effects of the congenital heart defect is devastating little Koda’s young family. Baby Koda will need two shots daily leading up to surgery which will be approximately mid summer. Those shots are very expensive even after insurance pays its part. We can’t totally erase the bills that are stacking up but we can help ease the financial burden and resultant stress that this young family is facing. My goal is to raise $10,000 for Koda. This will help his parents cover expenses such as gas to the hospital, small daily, weekly, monthly living expenses which will help cover food, utilities, rent, special dietary needs for Koda. The families income will be cut in half since the mother will not be working so she can provide care for Koda when he comes home from the hospital. Transparency is the utmost goal here with all of you and every dollar will be spent wisely and not taken for granted.

 

Other ideas are welcomed and I’ll be happy to hear them. For the short term solution this fundraiser will be a big help. There are many other ideas being brought up for future fundraising efforts in the local community. These efforts will help solve the finicial short term burden but it’s going to be a long haul for Koda and his medical care for months and years to come. Please consider making as generous a gift as you can today or pledging to do so on a weekly or monthly basis towards our $10,000 fundraising goal.
