Life Saving Surgery for Shania

My name is Shania. I am a 24 year old mom of three boys under three. I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone. My mom had me at a very young age. Unfortunately that led to me being severely abused to the point of almost dying. I had a severe brain bleed, skull fractures, torn retinas, and more leaving me with many lifelong health issues. I was placed in foster care until I was united with my dad who didn’t even know he had a child.

My dad and my grandpa raised me ever since. When I was 16 I lost my father. He was only 36 years old when he died from heart failure. It was a very traumatic experience for me and I miss him every day. My grandpa committed suicide the next month on my dad’s birthday. He was scared my dad would be all alone in heaven. Even after he promised me he’d stay. Losing two of the most important people in my life all at once has changed me in a way I never thought of.

I grew up with an eating disorder. I had a fear of choking and wouldn’t eat much. Thankfully I worked through that. Now, for the first time in my life, all I want to do is eat. Unfortunately I have failing teeth making it painful to do so. I have no top teeth and very few bottom teeth which are broken and cut my gums, tongue, and mouth. It also makes it very hard to speak. I survive mainly on liquids and have lost most of my weight. I am barely 110 lbs.

I am here today asking you for help to get a full mouth restoration which was recommended by my dentists to be my best option for my health. It would mean the absolute world to me to receive this help. I lost my dad at a young age and I do not want to leave my kids at a young age either.
