This fundraiser has been created to support Lidija Faamau and her family during an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time, so they can focus on what matters most — being by her side and supporting her recovery. On Wednesday night in Liverpool, our beloved Lidija Faamau was involved in a devastating car accident where Lidija was an innocent victim caught up in a police pursuit of a stolen ute. In an instant, her life — and the lives of everyone who loves her — were forever changed.
Lidija has sustained severe, life-threatening injuries, including a major brain injury, a fractured spine, fractured ribs, and serious internal injuries to her liver and spleen. She remains in intensive care as doctors work tirelessly to stabilise her and give her the best possible chance at recovery. The road ahead is uncertain and long, but if anyone is a fighter, it is Lidija.
Lidija is strong-willed, compassionate, and exceptionally intelligent. She is in her fourth year of studying medicine, driven by a goal of becoming a paediatric cardiologist — dedicating her life to caring for children and their hearts. She has always fought fiercely for what she believes in, standing firm in her values and never bending to anyone’s will if it doesn’t align with her convictions. Stubborn? Absolutely — but in the way that defines strength, integrity, and courage.
She is the life of the party, a bright light in this world who lights up every room she walks into. Independent and confident, Lidija has the rare gift of being able to strike up a conversation and build genuine relationships with anyone she meets. She is deeply loved as a daughter, sister, cousin, granddaughter, niece and friend, and she gives that love back tenfold.
To know Lidija is to know resilience, warmth, humour, and heart. Her family is now facing the unimaginable — watching someone so vibrant and full of promise fight for her life.
