The Olive Tree Fund is a grassroots community initiative designed to make therapeutic care more accessible to LGBTQI+ folk and QTIPOC people living on low incomes in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The fund provides a 30% subsidy on treatments, helping clients access consistent, trauma-informed support on a monthly basis.
Established in 2023, the fund exists as a gesture of solidarity within our community. Many LGBTQI+ and QTIPOC (Queer, Trans and Intersex People of Colour) people continue to face structural inequalities such as poverty, racism, housing insecurity, and medical discrimination. These barriers can make access to supportive, embodied care difficult or impossible.
The fund is a small but meaningful intervention within that wider landscape of inequity: a way of redistributing resources and creating more accessible pathways to care.
Since 2023, the fund subsidised 80 treatments and raised over £1500.
Currently, the fund relies entirely on community donations to provide the 30% treatment subsidy. This Pride Month campaign offers an opportunity not only to sustain the fund but to strengthen its future.
Our goal is to secure the long-term sustainability of the initiative and move closer to our dream of increasing the subsidy from 30% to 50%.
We deserve care.
