Our red-haired Goddess has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer.

This fundraiser is intended to help keep our Phoenix alive.

We’ve all been influenced by Nuala at some time in our lives. From the larger things; being there through parenting, guiding you on the path to landing your dream job, or helping you through difficult times in your life. To the smaller things; Giving you a ride to the airport, being a shoulder to cry on, help with your taxes, encouraging you to do that startup. Not to mention the volunteering she’s done with multiple organizations, some of which she’s created herself, fighting for the rights of all peoples.

One of those passions is helping the houseless population directly by building homes for families. She’s an official “Regular Volunteer” (She’s got the sweater to prove it) at Habitat 4 Humanity.

Giving her the support that she needs during these times is going to be essential to her survival. Between surgeries, chemotherapy, and losing her magnificent red hair, She will need the support of all of us in one way or another.

I’m (William) incredibly selfish in wanting this elegant woman to remain alive. The stories of the people she’s called family over these years are spoken with so much admiration and love in her voice. She cares for each and every one of you.

Nuala’s main source of income was renting out the house that she is currently occupying. She had to move in to have a comfortable place in which to go during treatment. So that means that her income has been significantly reduced first due to the pandemic and now with the need to survive. This means that paying for treatments will become incredibly strenuous.

Already paying for testing has run into the hundreds and that’s not including things to keep her feeling like herself during treatment. I’ve included a small list of what some of the funds will be used for.

• Paying Kelsey to tend the chickens and water the garden when we are at treatments. $12/hr

• Buying soft XL hats or fun wigs for her head to protect it from the elements. $20- $100

• Real Wig - she's got a very big head due to all those brains $800

• Housekeeping so the risk of infection is significantly lowered as her immune system will be lowered again. $150 per cleaning

• Dental Care that can be compromised during treatment. $200+

• Switch, PS5, and Board games to keep her entertained when she can’t do much else. $10-$50

• Paying for medical tests, paying for medications, and paying for treatments not covered under insurance (which tends to be a lot)

• Powells Books, Art stores, yarn shops, etc for small projects she can do while resting to enjoy her time

• Couples/Family counseling

• Comfortable bedding

• Comfortable clothing both pre and post-surgery.

• Car shares or rentals (Van does not have any air conditioning.)

• Take-out from her favorite restaurants.

These are just some of the things that the funds will be used for. Reach out to us as we have in-person ways to help as well. We are hoping she will receive more than we asked for, but setting the bar too high could mean that she doesn’t get funds at all if the goal is not reached. Let's show her how much we care for her by supporting her in her survival!
