Let’s get Gem back on her feet
Donazione protetta
As most of you are aware our lives were turned upside down after Gem was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a rare bone cancer) in January of this year.
Unfortunately the gruelling chemotherapy she endured over the following months didn’t work as well as we hoped which has resulted in her having her left leg amputated. Treatment for osteosarcoma is very intense and doesn’t end here, she has another 18 weeks of chemo to hopefully ensure the cancer doesn’t return followed by months of rehabilitation to enable her to walk again.
We were due to move house in 6 weeks time and take our children away from the home they adore and have grown up in. Their lives have been through turmoil enough this year and a further move would only compound this.
We are now in a position to stay in the home we love however this life changing disability comes with substantial financial costs. The house will require numerous adaptations to be made to make the house liveable and as comfortable as possible for Gem’s well-being.
I never envisaged having to ask for support through social media channels but as we have found out you really don’t know what life has in store.
Any donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you everyone
Paul
