On June 19, Jason suffered a cardiac arrest at home and has been in an induced coma for just over a week, to give his body the best possible chance to rest and recover.

This came as an unimaginable shock to all, but especially to Simone, Charlie and his three children Shannon, Bailey and Grace, who are now facing a very uncertain future.

On June 27th Jason reached an encouraging milestone as he opened his eyes for the first time.

While this has given his family hope, he is still critically unwell and has a long and uncertain road ahead. There is still so much that is unknown, and his recovery will take time.

Jason is a loving father and partner and a deeply valued part of his family's world. He has too many more fishing, camping and 4WD’ing adventures to share with his family and friends, so we are all hoping so very much for a full recovery. The hard road ahead has just begun for Jason and his support team.

The emotional, physical, and financial pressure that follows such a critical medical event is overwhelming.

Jason is the main income earner in his family and at this early stage, it is expected that his recovery may take up to 12 months, creating a huge financial strain, as he does not have income protection.

So many of you have been asking how you can help and support him, and as Simone would never allow herself to ask for help in this way, I am pushing her aside (in the nicest way) and asking Jason's friends, community and anyone who has felt touched by his situation to please help if you're able. It is a chance to rally around Jason, Simone and their family and help ease the load during this incredibly difficult time.

Every donation, message, and share will mean so much. Your support will help relieve pressure on Simone and the family, and most importantly, help them focus on what matters most right now, Jason’s comfort, care, and recovery.
